Going where no lampshade company has gone before, Cynthia Beebe used her executive marketing skills and savvy to develop excellent client service. For large projects, decorators and architects can send pictures or can arrange for BB Shades to go to the job site, take digital pictures and measurements, and produce the ultimate shade. The company develops new, innovative concepts as it has done with its star-shaped shade and its woven card lampshade in two tones. A variety of silks, trims, ribbons and stringing, as well as more standard fare are available.
Beebe graduated from Finch College and Parsons and previously worked in advertising at Avon Products and in new products at Revlon. She has lectured at the Cooper Hewitt Museum, Scalamandre and the Royal Oak Society. Many top New York decorators engage BB on a regular basis, and say the pricing is about the same as the best New York firms, but the client service is “clearly better.” Shades can range from $115 for a pleated silk chandelier shade to $400+ for a twenty-foot masterpiece.
